MY FAVORITE MOVIES’ DIRECTORS

I’ve always been a huge cinema fan. And due to my high school option, which was theater and cinema, I had to analyze many movies throughout those 4years. Sooooo, movies have always been one of my favorite topic to talk about. In other words I have quite the obsession for some directors, and here there are.

#1 WOODY ALLEN

So, my obsession with the city of New York started with him (not with Gossip Girl as many believe). Since “Manhattan” I got pretty obsess with the beautiful city of New York. This guy has directed 47 movies in his entire career. The guy is a legend. Let’s just be honest. During my high school cursus I had to analyze 3 of his movies : Radio Head, Annie Hall and Manhattan. At first, I have to be honest, I wasn’t too keen about this. I didn’t really understand why people were such fans of him. But then Manhattan came by, the last movie I had to analyze, I was thanking God that I wouldn’t have to see one more movie from him after this one. Little did I know, I fell in love and I couldn’t help myself. Since then, I’ve started watching more and more of his work. Trust me it’s so worth it. If you want to start watching movies from Allen, start with Annie Hall it’s a classic, and although I didn’t like it at first, the second time I watched it, I understood why Ted Mosby couldn’t date a girl that doesn’t like Annie Hall.

#2 TIM BURTON

Oh dear Tim. What would I do without you, Johnny and Helena? Sad though that they divorced. But still we got their movies. My actual favorite Halloween movie since as long as I can remember is “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Trust me, not a year goes by that I don’t watch TNBC on October 31st. Not only this one, but also Charlie and Chocolate Factory or even the Corpse Bride. Till this day I still watch both of them, at least once every 2 months. Plus, can anyone forget about Edward Scissorhands ? Johnny Depp at his finest. And of course he adapted my favorite Disney/Bedtime Story on the big big screen. I’m a part of these people that think that Alice in Wonderland 1&2 were good movies. Even if you didn’t like these two last movies… The guy made Batman. Just for that, you should love him.

#3 GIA COPPOLA

Now for this pretty lady. I’m pretty sure you all know her last name to say the least. Francis Ford Coppola is her grandfather and if you don’t know who that guy is, you must probably live under a rock. The guy is another legend, he directed “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now” among other movies. Dear Gia has only one movie to her credit for now (she has another one in the making “The Lonely Doll”) and it is pretty awesome, don’t worry about it. EVEN more, you’ve probably read about it, on this post. If you don’t know yet (which means you didn’t click, you’ll learn more about the movie though, if you want to watch it someday) it is the fabulous movie, that goes by the name of Palo Alto (based on James Franco’s book). Just by this one (and by her family tree) you can tell that she’ll some day become a big hit.

I could’ve listed so many more directors like Tarentino, Chris Colombus, David Yates, …

But I’ve managed to reduced to my 3 main bitches #jk.

Till next time,

Evie.
